As the time flying by and the Corona times are slightly going over, I have also managed to proceed with some upgrades. First, I did not like the exhaust position on Duke 125. In my personal opinion, it's too low. Especially noticeable when you compare it with 790 etc.
KTM original bracket is made of steel and is actually quite heavy. But I did not wanted to modify that, so I can keep it for any occasion.
I decided to design and build new one from aluminium. I made the prototype from cardboard and then took the measurements. After that I asked my girl to make the CAD file of it, so I could send it to one of our family member who has engineering and manufacturing company, and he can use the CNC machine to mill it.
The new CNC milled bracket is so light in hand, that it feels like plastic, but the outcome itself was priceless. The only worry I have is that maybe I made it too thin on first bend (same as the original, but it was from steel). I guess we will see it in future.
The left one is original and the new one is on the right (it's primed). As you can see, its few cm shorter, which will rise the exhaust mounting place up. I will use all the original mountings and bushing. I'm really really happy with it, I just hope it would not brake etc.
I decided to paint it black and this is the final outcome with the original mountings. Exactly as I wished.
There are some other bigger changes coming up, which I will post about when they are done, so stay tuned!
