As I promised earlier, I will add the table of our project weight loss progress.
So far we have saved about 6.65 kg + additional grams from removing stock covers and bolts. Also some of the mass has come down from wheels and sprockets so the effect is even higher. It's quite amazing result as we still has the massive muffler and CAT on (as we keep it street legal) and all the stuff for 2 persons ride ability. So I if we want to keep it single person ride and for track use in future, the 15kg + would be pretty reachable. Even 20 kg, I think would be possible with custom frame parts made from composites.
In my plans now is to cut the weight more by different bolts, chain and accessories. I think the final reduction would be around 10 kg. In future we definitely change the tires and the dream goal would be to get forged wheels and adjustable forks, but this setup cost more then half of the new duke 125, so they are bought only when we have that kind of budget.
Also there are plans with engine when the 1000 km first service is done, but there would not be so radical changes as the machine will remain street legal.
Right now we take the baby steps and I think in couple of months, there will be no big changes. This bike needs the seating time the most, but as I don't have the license, its not going to happen anytime soon.
