Motorcycle Ergonomics: Finding the Right Fit and the things we usually don't think about.

Updated: May 14, 2020

As some of us already know, all the motorcycles came from dealerships with some default setup. But as all humans are different, finding your correct fit is crucial for best user experience and to feel comfortable with your motorcycle. Wrong set-up can ruin your emotions, make you crash and even harm you.

Dave has made some good video about explaining this topic in general. And as you can see, many riders have no idea about it. Just Tune in!

Duke 125 2017+:

Ergonomically the Duke is built to fit many people. Its seat height is fairly high at 83cm but the seat itself is narrow enough to make it accessible for shorter riders. (also they have a lowering kit if needed). The bike has a fairly comfortable riding position, it's more like on touring bikes. The 2017+ model places a bit more weight over the front end than the previous model but the wide bars stop it from feeling too cramped. Also the rider can set-up the handlebar angle and levers, gear lever and brake pedal as usual, but in some cases this would not be enough and you have to look for aftermarket or KTM power-parts options (foot-sets, height adjustable levers, different handlebar etc), that allows more personal adjust-ability.

There is one simulator for free to see your fitment to different bikes. http://cycle-ergo.com/ You can enter your details and some modifications and see how you fit on the bike. I requested to add KTM Duke 125 2017+ also there, right now there is only 2014 model. I hope they will add it soon.
