As the gen 3 Dukes suffer from the exhaust heat as its so damn packed between engine and frame parts - I wanted to avoid it radiating the heat to the Nitron shock as it got really hot (even tho it managed to not be really affected by it). Therefore I had few options - to wrap it or to build a heat shield. As wrap also absorb humidity and could potentially rust your pipe, I explored more the idea to make proper shield on the bend itself. I discovered a material that is extremely lightweight and really easy to be modified. It's widely used for heat shielding in motorsport and therefore seems like ideal thing to use. Its called Inconel.

Now will see how this will hold up and will start to make some noise when roads are though. Otherwise its easy to remove and I plan to change all the other stock shields with this material as well. It truly weights nothing and can withstand even Turbo heat.
